Salesforce, Google sign $2.5b AI deal to rival Microsoft

Salesforce Inc. has signed a multibillion-dollar agreement with Google’s cloud division, committing to spend at least US$2.5 billion over the next seven years on Google Cloud services.

This deal enables Salesforce customers to run its products, such as customer-management software, Agentforce AI assistants, and Data Cloud, on Google’s platform.

This partnership arises as tech companies like Salesforce and Google aim to compete with Microsoft Corp. in the corporate generative AI market.

While Microsoft already provides AI tools to many Fortune 500 companies, Salesforce and Google are looking to expand their presence in AI-enhanced productivity and customer management software.
