Malaysia launches AI office for policy, regulation

Malaysia has established a national office for AI to address policy-making and regulatory issues.

The initiative was announced Thursday as a step to make Malaysia a regional hub for AI technology.

The central AI office will focus on strategic planning, research, and regulation.

Its first-year goals include creating an AI code of ethics and a five-year action plan extending to 2030.
