Hyundai recalls 145k EVs in US for power loss issue

Hyundai Motor is recalling around 145,235 EVs in the United States due to a potential loss of drive power issue.

The country’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall.

The recall affects certain IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 models and some Genesis GV60, GV70, and G80 vehicles from 2022 to 2025 model years.

According to the NHTSA, the integrated charging control units in these vehicles might be damaged over time. This damage can halt the 12-volt battery charge and result in power loss.
