Foxconn to make Mitsubishi EVs in Taiwan

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., also known as Foxconn, has entered into an agreement to produce EVs for Mitsubishi Motors Corp. This marks a notable development for its EV contract manufacturing segment.

The timeline for the start of production is currently unclear, but the initial batch of cars will reportedly target markets in Australia and New Zealand.

Hon Hai representatives have not commented on the agreement. However, a Mitsubishi spokesperson indicated the company is open to partnerships.

This agreement is part of Hon Hai’s strategy to expand beyond its traditional focus on iPhones and consumer electronics into sectors such as AI servers and EV outsourcing.
