Foxconn removes marital status from job ads in India
Foxconn has instructed its recruitment agents in India to eliminate age, gender, and marital criteria from job listings.
This decision comes after a Reuters investigation revealed discriminatory hiring practices at its primary iPhone assembly plant.
The investigation found that from January 2023 to May 2024, job ads limited eligibility to unmarried women of certain ages.
This conflicted with both Apple and Foxconn’s anti-discrimination policies.
