Foxconn invests $142m in Texas for AI server hub
Taipei-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., also known as Foxconn, has invested US$142 million in Texas.
The company acquired an 86.34-acre property and a 1 million square-foot building in Houston through its cloud solution subsidiary, Ingrasys Technology Inc., as reported in a filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange on Mar. 24.
Foxconn did not specify the purpose of the investment.
However, sources indicated that the facility will be used to expand AI server production for North American clients, excluding any involvement from Apple Inc.
