Coupang hits $38b in transaction volume
South Korean ecommerce firm Coupang reported a 55 trillion won (US$38.4 billion) transaction volume in 2024, up 23.6% from 44.5 trillion won (US$31 billion) in 2023, according to WiseApp Retail Goods.
The company’s transaction volume has steadily grown from 33.1 trillion won (US$23.1 billion) in 2021 to 38.6 trillion won (US$27 billion) in 2022, with Coupang Eats doubling in 2024.
Coupang and Coupang Eats together surpassed 60 trillion won (US$42 billion) in 2024, and annual sales are projected to exceed 40 trillion won (US$28 billion).
In Q3 2024, Coupang’s revenue rose 32% year-over-year to 10.6 trillion won (US$7.4 billion), while operating profit climbed 29% to 148.1 billion won (US$103.4 million).
