South Korea’s Coupang plans to acquire London-based luxury fashion firm Farfetch, which has been struggling financially. The deal will provide Farfetch with US$500 million in capital, combining the logistics capabilities of Coupang with Farfetch’s expertise in luxury retail.

Following the deal, Coupang aims to expand Farfetch’s coverage into South Korea’s rapidly growing luxury market.
