China eases stance on TikTok deal in US
Chinese authorities may be adopting a more flexible stance on TikTok’s future.
This could allow its parent company ByteDance to engage in discussions with American investors, according to sources familiar with the situation.
This change coincides with a recent statement from US President Donald Trump.
He expressed interest in reaching an agreement concerning TikTok.
On Jan. 20, Trump signed an executive order extending a 75-day deadline for American firms to stop hosting TikTok unless ByteDance divests its US operations.
