ByteDance promotes Lemon8 amid TikTok’s potential US ban
ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is promoting its sister app, Lemon8, as a possible alternative amidst concerns of a TikTok ban.
Sponsored posts on TikTok feature Lemon8, highlighting automatic data transfer and follower integration between the two applications.
Lemon8 aims to merge video content similar to TikTok with photo sharing akin to Instagram.
Although smaller than TikTok, Lemon8 has reported over 1 million daily active users on average since October.
ByteDance said that this integration is not connected to the potential ban on TikTok.
