ASML to open repair hub in China despite US export curbs

ASML Holding, a Dutch supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, plans to open a “reuse and repair” center in Beijing in 2025.

This decision is influenced by ongoing United States export restrictions affecting China’s access to advanced chip technology.

The project was disclosed in the company’s annual report and is part of ASML’s commitment to a circular economy through the reuse of parts and tools.

Due to US-imposed export controls, ASML is prohibited from selling its advanced extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography systems to clients in China.
