Apple extends TikTok’s App Store stay by 75 days
Apple will allow TikTok to remain on its App Store for at least 75 more days. This decision follows assurances from Attorney General Pam Bondi and comes after a second extension of TikTok’s ban deadline under an executive order signed by President Donald Trump.
TikTok, owned by China’s ByteDance, faces a potential US ban unless its US operations are sold.
This is mandated by a national security law signed by former President Joe Biden in April 2024. Unnamed sources in the report indicated that Bondi advised Apple it would not face penalties for hosting TikTok during the extended deadline.
Apple previously reinstated TikTok on its App Store following a similar assurance from Bondi earlier this year. TikTok briefly went offline for US users in January and was unavailable for download until Feb. 13, 2025.
