New Nintendo! The biggest game announcements from today’s Nintendo Direct

Satoru Iwata, global president of Nintendo, started off another Nintendo Direct (Nintendo’s recurring online product announcement events) with announcements of a wide range of upcoming game titles and game updates for Nintendo consoles. Both the American and Japanese broadcasts came with their own set of releases, so we’ve got both announcements in full below:

• Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U, a super action packed Mario title that features fresh powers and playable Mario characters in a 3D environment. The game will be available on November 22nd.

• Wii Remote plus Mario and Wii Remote plus Luigi will be available on November 1st.

• Wii Party U for the Wii U, a game designed specifically for parties and group fun, will feature a wide variety of party games, mini-games and group entertainment for friends and family. The game will be available on October 25th.

• Taiko No Tatsujin will be released for the Wii U and will features songs from AKB48, Exile, Ikimonogakari, One Piece, Toricco and Pokemon X&Y. The game will be released in Japan on November, 21st.

• Monster Hunter Frontier G for the Wii U will be released in Japan on December, 11th.

• Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze was initially announced to be released in North America in December of 2013 but will be delayed to February 2014.

• Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014, a large-scale sports-focused game will feature Mario and Sonic characters taking part in a variety of Winter Olympic activities and will be available on November, 15th.

• Super Smash Bros has been announced for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and will feature Sonic in its lineup of playable characters.

• New paid downloadable content for Mission mode has been announced for Pikmin 3 that will now be available on the Nintendo eShop. An update for Pikmin 3 involving a the ranking system and add on stage for current Pikmin 3 players is also available for download.
