Neowiz's upcoming MMORPG Bless gets adults-only rating in Korea

Well, here’s an obstacle Neowiz’s upcoming MMORPG Bless (블레스) may have to address before its launch before its beta starts on February 6: according to gaming site 17173, Bless has been slapped with an 18+ (i.e. adults only) rating by South Korea’s game rating board. It’s not clear exactly what the game has done to deserve this rating, but I’ve got to assume it has something to do with the classics: sex and violence.

With that said, Bless isn’t necessarily stuck with this rating for good. The version of the game that was submitted was an early beta version with limited player counts, items, etc., and Neowiz will have to resubmit the final version of the game anyway, so if the company decides it doesn’t want the game to have such a high rating, it could well tone down any problems as it preps the game for resubmission.

Bless is a European-style medieval fantasy MMORPG, and the game’s selling points include siege warfare and the fact that it has been build with the Unreal Engine 3 and thus looks pretty damn gorgeous. It was featured on our list of 9 Asian games to look forward to in 2014, and it should be on your list, too—as long as you’re over 18, that is!
