Singapore-based Nas Academy, a creator education website, has partnered with Web3 e-learning site Invisible College to create online courses that require non-fungible tokens to unlock, Blockworks reported.
Members of Invisible College are required to purchase a Solana-based Decentralien NFT, which are currently worth US$291 on NFT marketplace Magic Eden.
Those who hold the token can access courses, which typically cost US$49 to US$597, for free starting September 1 this year. Once enrolled in the courses – which include topics like “Bored Ape Yacht Club, Explained” – learners will join group classes, interactive sessions, and Zoom meetups.
The membership format means buyers can sell their NFTs after completing courses, which would effectively reimburse their tuition fees.
Launched in December 2021, Invisible College has created lessons and lectures that teach users skills to navigate the new web.
Meanwhile, Nas Academy, which was founded in 2020 by Nuseir Yassin, helps upskill aspirational content creators, offering course certificates such as video editing and social media. The firm has also recently explored crypto-related subjects.
