MyDala.com Hits 3 Million Subscribers Milestone

mydalaMyDala.com, which claims to be the first group-buying site in India, has hit the 3 million subscribers milestone today.

Founded by Anisha Singh in November 2009, MyDala.com has grown from a four-employee team to a size of 60 today. Singh thanks her loyal users for MyDala’s success, saying:

Anisha Singh, CEO and Founder of Mydala

We owe our success to all our subscribers and well-wishers who have continuously supported us and recommended us to friends and family.

We are witnessing an all-round growth which is not just limited to traffic rankings. We have sold more than 350,000 vouchers to date through our partnerships with more than 8,000 popular merchants across India.

MyDala is frequently visited, with over 250,000 visitors per day. Singh’s start-up has so far gotten funding of Rs. 9 crores (US$2 million) from Info Edge (owners of Naukri.com, a popular job portal in India) and Rs. 1.1 crores (US$250,000) from the founders of CX Partners, a $600 million private equity fund.

Other popular daily deal sites in India include Groupon’s Sosasta, which recently had a huge security blunder, and SnapDeal which recently had a town named after it. LivingSocial hasn’t really entered the Indian market yet. Perhaps, getting acquired by LivingSocial could be one of the possible exit strategies for MyDala.
