Tencent and Groupon China’s Gaopeng just went live, a Chinese friend of mine informed me. Although the site is now live, there isn’t any deals available yet. Upon landing on the page, visitors are prompted to sign up for Gaopeng’s newsletter to receive further news. It seems like Tencent and Groupon have somehow reached an agreement in their previous dispute. In Groupon’s wish, Gaopeng is now live and Tencent has ample time (it seems) to work on localizing the group-buying service. We’ll update as we learn.
