MPGL SEA heats up the competition with a new format and two new country qualifiers

Southeast Asian Dota 2 fans have something new to be excited about, as the Mineski Pro Gaming League (MPGL) Southeast Asian tournament returns with an all-new format. Check out the official trailer:

In case you can’t watch the video, MPGL SEA will now include two divisions in their national qualifiers, with Singapore getting its own division and an open qualifiers for countries that do not have their own divisions such as Korea, Australia, and Japan.

Aside from the two national qualifier divisions, MPGL SEA will now feature a new format with three stages. The first stage is the national qualifiers for the following divisions:

The champion of each country or division will then proceed to the playoffs. The teams will be paired randomly and will have to compete in a best-of-three series to determine the top four teams that will proceed to join four seeded teams in the next stage—the Class S.

The seeded teams for this year are Team Titan, MiTH.Trust, JET, and G7. The eight teams will be divided into two groups. The top two teams for each group will then advance to the Class S semi-finals to play best-of-three series and a best-of-five series in the grand final.
