The 10 startups in MOX’s new batch that bagged up to $120k in funding

Mobile Only Accelerator (MOX) has unveiled its seventh cohort of startups in the healthtech, education, fintech, social commerce, and entertainment spaces.

MOX, which is operated by Silicon Valley-based SOSV, aims to help global startups reach mobile-first, mobile-only smartphone users in Southeast Asia and India.

A demo day just concluded today in Taipei, with another one coming on August 30 in Singapore.

The 10 startups that are part of MOX Batch 7, which hail from India, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Indonesia, include profitable global teams and seed-stage firms with sizable user bases in their home countries.

Each of the startups received about US$100,ooo to US$120,000 in funding, the company said.

Here are the startups included in Batch 7:

  • India’s Whatscut Pro is a mobile video-editing app with about 1 million downloads and 5 million stories shared.
  • Hong Kong’s Chekk enables banks, insurance companies, and fintech firms onboard and manage customers through its platform.
  • Thailand’s Natbay is a luxury fashion and lifestyle platform.
  • India’s Vidyakul is an online learning platform connecting educators with Indian students.
  • India’s Podd is a credit trust bureau enabling merchants to better understand their customers and consumers to carry their reputational score from one merchant to the next.
  • India’s PlayTooMe enables anyone with friends to perform in their own concert.
  • India’s Woovly is a community-based content sharing and recommendations platform.
  • India’s Phable helps doctors improve patient treatment compliance with continuous patient monitoring via its machine learning-enabled platform.
  • India’s Zotezo is a platform focused on products, services, and content about health, beauty, and fitness.
  • Indonesia’s PinjamWinWin provides loans to individuals and small businesses.
