YouTube houses lots of funny videos. Here’s one more addition to the family: A recent Bollywood dancing cop from Indonesia is the latest hit in the country. Norman Kamaru is under the limelight as he performed lip syncing and a creative dance in tune with Hindi song, “Chaiyya-Chaiyya”, according to JarkartaGlobe.
The video has attracted over 800,000 views at the point of writing. The video was first uploaded on March 29 and won YouTube honors including the “#10 – Most discussed (this week)” and “#54 Most Discussed (this month)”.
Despite entertaining a huge audience, the Indonesian authority is determined to impose a penalty on Kamaru. The authority, however, did admit that the video is creative. Kamaru would have become a true YouTube sensation if he had performed his act in plain clothes. But I guess all the media reports on disciplinary actions against him did help to boost the view counts on YouTube.
A research last year indicated that more people actually watched funny videos on the web than news. The fact that humor and the viral effect are closely co-related have seen an eruption of infotainment (ads) videos mushroomed across the years. Some brands which employ the funny viral ad tactic includes Old Spice, Ikea and Specsavers. If you have the time, do catch some freaky ads here too.
