Hello reader,
Looking at the list of startups that have raised funds this week has me feeling a little sad.
None of the top five deals featured in this newsletter come from Southeast Asia. In fact, it seems like the region’s startups haven’t raised much funds this week, with only a handful on the full list.
There’s no denying that Southeast Asia’s tech scene is going through a lot. Startup funding dropped for the third consecutive year in 2024, and recent events – such as the eFishery scandal and political uncertainty – have left us in some rocky waters.
Still, we have to just keep building and chugging along – I have faith that if we continue to build great products that solve real problems, we’ll be alright.
