Zaizher is a new but neat looking professional mobile app for China. It pulls data from your Sina Weibo account and turns it into a professional looking digital business card.
As Sina Weibo is huge in China, Zaizher is the perfect app for folks in tech circles to exchange business cards digitally. After exchanging cards users can follow, message, and build a list of business contacts within their mobile phone.
Robert Hsiung, the founder of Zaizher, said that the app has generated over 40,000 downloads and 50 percent of them are active users despite launching the app just 1.5 months ago. Zaizher is also listed as one of the top 100 startups in Red Herring’s list and Sina Weibo’s top 50 apps. Hsiung plans to integrate more social networks in the future, starting with Tianji (a professional networking site in China) and followed by Renren or Tencent Weibo.
Robert isn’t a native Chinese but has decided to stay at Beijing to build his startup. He explained that for now, two of the best places to start-up is either in Silicon Valley or Beijing; a point upon which I pretty much agree.
Zaizher has received an investment from an angel investor but didn’t reveal how much it was.
In the video below, Robert demonstrates how his app works:
