Meet Kinetiquettes, the Asian indie studio making high-end collectible Street Fighter figurines
There’s a reason that today’s big games almost always come with Collectors’ Editions and limited-availability posters, figurines, and prints: sometimes you want to bring your love for a game into the real, physical world. Game character figurines have always been a big part of that, and recently a group of Asian artists in the games industry here joined forces to form Kinetiquettes, a new company that produces high-end game character figurines.
And their first major contract? A deal to produce Street Fighter figurines licensed by Capcom.
You can learn a bit more about the company and the Street Fighter figurines it is now working on in its first video diary:

A sample of the artists’ previous work: Cloud Strife.
Of the deal with Capcom, Kinetiquettes sculptor and painter Adeeb MD Mynul Islam told Games in Asia: “it was definitely a long process.” Thankfully, although the company itself is new, many of the artists had previously worked together on collaborative projects, so they had a big portfolio of work to draw from, which helped convince Capcom to give them the green light.
And Adeeb had some more good news for Street Fighter fans:
We worked with Capcom U.S.A. to also secure a deal with Capcom Japan and hence we have rights to worldwide distribution and sales. So the global fans will have access to our stuff.
Obviously, the company is still in its early days, but with an impressive catalogue of previous creations from its artists and a high-profile deal with Capcom already lined up, things are certainly looking bright for Kinetiquettes.
UPDATE 2014-7-7: This post was updated to clarify that Kinetiquettes is making the figurines for itself with a license to use Capcom’s IP, rather than for Capcom.
