SEO tools firm Ahrefs raises $1.3m for Ukraine
Singapore-based Ahrefs, an SEO service provider, has raised US$1.3 million for humanitarian organizations in Ukraine.
Started in February, the funds will go to efforts on food and medicine delivery, transportation, and temporary refugee homes “to support our anti-war position with real actions,” said Dmitry Gerasimenko, founder and CEO of Ahrefs.

Ahrefs set up a banner on its product dashboard linking directly to charities recommended by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
The company then offered to extend customers’ subscriptions to their platform by twice the amount of their donation. A customer donating US$100, for example, can get US$200 of subscription value in return.
“Some of the customers quietly donated, saying they won’t request Ahrefs to refund their donation. Others shared the bank receipts with the sum of donation, so we had an opportunity to count the total amount of the funds raised,” said Gerasimenko, adding that around 20 members of the team have family and friends in Ukraine.
Ahrefs also extended the subscriptions of Ukrainian accounts in its platform by six months.
