Teja Ventures leads Indonesian kids food startup’s new round

Indonesia-based Grouu, a kids-focused meal planning startup, has raised an undisclosed amount in a funding round led by Teja Ventures and joined by Arkana Ventures and Javas Capital.

Grouu started in 2020 as a baby food catering service that delivers meals to users’ houses every day. The firm has since expanded to offering meals for kids between one to 10 years old. It has also added non-MSG options to its menu.

The company said that it received more than 1,000 orders per day in August.

Grouu plans to use the fresh funding to offer more products, open a production facility in Surabaya, and sell its meals through offline retail chains.

The startup was established by Jessica Marthin, who previously worked at Gojek for nearly three years, along with Ratna Pratama, Natalia Imelda, and Stefanus Suharjono. In January, it raised US$400,000 in a pre-seed funding round from Selera Kapital, the VC arm of F&B company Sour Sally Group.
