EZTable wins Tech in Asiaโ€™s Startup Arena at #StartupAsia Tokyo 2014

Taiwan-based startup EZTable, a mobile app for restaurant reservations, has won Tech in Asiaโ€™s Startup Arena pitch competition at this yearโ€™s Startup Asia Tokyo 2014.

EZTable CEO Alex Chen pitched in front of a panel of judges including Yasuhiko Yurimoto of Global Brain, Shinji Asada of Itochu Technology Ventures, David Milstein of Growth Partners Japan, and Taka Hasunuma of Recruit Strategic Partners.

8securities won about US$250 worth of AWS credits and a a Kindle fire HDX 8.9. Appota was invited to Global Brainโ€™s annual GBAF event with free airline tickets and accommodation for two members of the team and introductions to two major Japanese corporations who are part of its network. Moneytree will receive Microsoft Azure credits worth US$5,000 per month, limited up to a year. Kaizen will receive press release software credits and consulting services worth roughly US$2,100 yen per quarter and also consulting services. Finally, Capy will receive six months worth of Sakura Internet cloud-hosting credits and a yakiniku gift certificate worth US$500.
