In brief: Malaysian food media group gets $52k to venture into new markets
Penang-based Good Foodie Media raised US$52,612 (RM220,000) from the Penang State Government’s i4 SeedFund and angel investors. The company plans to use the fund to expand into new markets.

Good Foodie Media’s brands include Penang Foodie and KL Foodie. The company produces food, event, and travel-related content.
Founded in 2018, the company will use the fresh funding to strengthen its market presence and digital content. It plans to expand to three new cities, starting with Singapore. Johor in Malaysia and Bangkok in Thailand are next on its list next year.
Singapore Foodie, the company’s latest brand, made its debut this month. Good Foodie claims that its viewership in Lion City is “growing rapidly” and has reached “3 million people, with 1 million video views in the last 30 days.”
