Indian bullfrog. Delicious? Source: Wikipedia
It’s a Friday and all of us are yearning for that big feast in a nice restaurant or at home with our family. A youth from India had the same aspiration but was a little more particular with his choice of food. He picked Indian bullfrogs, a protected species according to wildlife protection rules in India.
The Indian bullfrogs were slaughtered, cooked, and eaten. It was all okay until he proudly shared his “bullfrog feast” experience on Facebook. That got him into trouble as someone from Wild Goa Network, a wildlife activist group somehow managed to learn the news.
Wild Goa Network posted the information on its website and informed the forest department about the news. The officials tracked and raided the youth’s house only to find he was not at home, although they did find evidence of the cooked frog and speak with his parents. The culprit, identified as Yoko Gomes had already left the house for Mumbai.
It’s amazing to learn how a simple Facebook post can get us into trouble. But this Indian Bullfrog news can’t be worst than a silly burglar who was apprehended as he forgot to log out of Facebook.
