Social commerce firm hauls in $1.5m from Animoca Brands, others
LinkBy, a Taiwan-based social commerce platform, has raised US$1.5 million in a pre-series A funding round led by Hive Ventures, with participation from Artesian Capital and Animoca Brands.
Other investors that chipped in include Michelle Ho, board chairman of Hanshin Department Store; Ho Fei-Peng, CEO of Cite Media Holding Group; and Chu Huang-Wei, co-founder of Pixnet.

Founded by Keegan Huang in 2020, LinkBy is a platform that allows people to promote and sell products from various brands while getting additional income from commissions. To date, the company said it has helped 1,000 fitness coaches get paid by recommending products from brands such as Adidas, Reebok, and Decathlon.
The company also developed Engaged.AI, a product that can identify potential social media influencers and connect them to brands. The service has helped over 30,000 companies across Asia Pacific.

LinkBy plans to use the fresh funds to hire more employees and expand its business to new verticals across Southeast Asian countries.
