TaoZhiBao Shakes Up Jobs Listings Market, Adds 5,000 New Jobs Per Hour

One Chinese startup is shaking up the county’s jobs listings market with a simple app that scrapes jobs postings from many major job search services as well as from over 10,000 corporate sites – including the HR sections of the likes of Apple, Baidu, and Sina. Called TaoZhiBao, it’s now available as apps for iOS, Android, and various social networks, such as within the Twitter-esque service Sina Weibo.

TaoZhiBao says it’s discovering 5,000 new job postings per hour nationwide, and currently has just over three million listed. The newcomer is up against portals on major Chinese web companies, as well as specialist sites like 51Job, Zhaopin, and ChinaHR.

The startup behind TaoZhiBao is Zaizher, makers of the professional social network for mobiles that we gave a video review last November. Its founder, Robert Hsiung, explained to TiA:

We just launched about a week ago and are going through some changes as users give us feedback, and will start promoting heavily in September as the school year begins.

[UPDATED: adding this response]: Robert points out that “We are not competing with the major job sites, we complement them. After all a majority of our job listings still come from them. Our users who find jobs on our site still have to go to wherever we pulled them from to apply.”

Robert claims that its aggregating of jobs listings from both rival sites and corporate sites give it “an overwhelming advantage” in major hubs like Beijing, as well as in second- and third-tier cities (many provincial capitals and cities of several million people) where most people actually live. A mini-infographic the company has made (see it here) says that it has 13,341 jobs available in the major southern city of Guangzhou, which is way ahead of the 2,723 of its nearest competitor, 51Job.

As well as all those listings, the TaoZhiBao mobile apps also integrate with its business app, Zaizher.

Get the TaoZhiBao app from its homepage, or try out the social web app version on Weibo.
