Let’s talk about Fight Club, Boomzap Entertainment’s latest brand

Casual game developer Boomzap Entertainment has announced a new brand called Boomzap Fight Club. It will house the studio’s free-to-play, mobile-first strategy games, and is kicking off with two original titles: Pillage People and the recently-released Super Awesome Quest.
Pillage People is a fun Clash of Clans clone which we reviewed here, while Super Awesome Quest is an interesting take on the mobile RPG, involving strategic card-flipping.
Boomzap has long been known for developing hidden object puzzle adventure games for casual game portals like Big Fish. With the introduction of the Boomzap Fight Club brand, it is moving towards self-publishing. The brand name arose from a shared interest amongst Boomzap employees, who all enjoy martial arts.

As part of the brand launch, Boomzap will be sponsoring a charity fighting event called White Collar Boxing, with proceeds going to the Children’s Surgical Center in Cambodia. Co-founder and technical director Allan Simonsen will be participating in the boxing match, which you can contribute to here. Boomzap Entertainment has been active in other charity efforts, such as the Three Summits for Nepal and raising funds for Typhoon Haiyan last year.
When we first caught wind of Boomzap’s new approach to game development at Casual Connect Asia this year, it had a total of four potential titles. Of these four, puzzle game Turnspell Tales and MMA-gym-management sim Boomzap Fight Club have yet to be released.
Pillage People and Super Awesome Quest are now available in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
