By now, every business knows it has to be smart in its online strategy. Gone are the vanity metrics of yesteryear, with numbers of downloads, visitors, and the like. Now it’s all about user engagement, customer loyalty, and business results.

This startup based in Singapore and India is using AI to automate a lot of what goes into generating sales leads and acting on them fast.

More and more sophisticated tools are coming into the market to help with tracking what’s actionable that really matters to the business. Conversion rate optimization, funnel analysis, real time heat maps, abandoned cart recovery, sales lead generation – there are tech tools for all that and more. The trouble is many businesses are just not equipped to derive insights from these tools or act on them. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) especially can’t afford to hire high caliber data scientists to make the best use of the tools for customer retention or sales closure.

That’s where Lucep comes in. This startup based in Singapore and India is using artificial intelligence (AI) to automate a lot of what goes into generating leads and then acting on them fast. Sales Gorilla is the name of its AI engine behind the Lucep app.

Quicker response time for sales leads

“We use AI to look at users on a site,” says Kaiesh Vohra, co-founder and CEO of Lucep. “If you land at 2 a.m. the AI knows you’re just horsing around. It captures tonnes of signals like that to figure if you’re a serious customer, when it should prompt you, how to elicit a lead for the business, and so on.”

“Even if the engagement fails,” Kaiesh goes on, “the AI engine learns from it and improves.”

Engaging with users and generating business leads is only half the battle won. Closing a higher proportion of those leads depends on swift action.

Healthcare, hospitality, and testing solutions providers can also integrate the Lucep SDK into their software.

According to Lucep, nearly two-thirds of customers choose to do business with the first responder to a query. So the usual 48-hour response time that businesses give themselves means a lot of lost opportunities.

Here Lucep’s tool slashes response time by prompting the sales person who is most suitable for that lead and also available for an immediate response. It combines that with AI analytics on the lead to help close it out.

The use of AI to reduce the human factor in this has another advantage: it makes the allocation of leads to the sales team less arbitrary. “Allocation often depends on the mood or agenda of the manager. So it’s not necessarily optimized to yield results,” points out Kaiesh. “We automate the lead allocation with AI.”
