In brief: Lazada Malaysia picks new CEO
Ecommerce platform Lazada Malaysia has announced the appointment of Leo Chow as its chief executive officer. He will lead the company’s strategic development and growth in Malaysia and work closely with the local function teams.

Chow is no stranger to the Lazada family. He has been with Lazada Malaysia since 2018, serving as the regional executive vice president. In this role, he developed and implemented regional category and assortment strategies, and managed traffic policies on marketing platforms.

He also played a part in facilitating Chinese giant Alibaba’s investment in the e-tailer, said Lazada Malaysia in a statement.
Chow previously worked with Chinese online marketplace Taobao. During his tenure, Chow introduced a new model of cross-border business based on “social ecommerce” and was responsible for the Taobao Global Platform.
