“Some 20,000 digital roles are tipped to be added by the committed investments that the Economic Development Board secured in 2019 and 2020, or two-fifths of the job creation from these investments,” reported The Business Times, citing the Singapore Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo.

- These additional digital jobs indicate that the information communication media sector’s contribution to Singapore’s economy is expected to grow much larger in the future from its current 10% share, according to Teo.
- Increased digitalization across sectors is seen as the primary driver for the increase in demand for digital tech talent.
