Philippe Auberger, who previously led Lazada’s logistics arm in Indonesia for over three years, has announced that he joined logistics startup SiCepat as COO.
Auberger brings decades of industry experience to the startup, having tackled logistics issues in Indonesia since the early 2000s. Before being the country CEO for Lazada Logistics Indonesia, he served as the country manager of Lazada Express between 2015 and 2020, managing last-mile delivery.
He succeeds Murwanto, who had been serving as SiCepat’s COO since February 2014. Although there hasn’t been an official announcement, Auberger mentioned on his LinkedIn profile that he had started in March.
Earlier this year, the company also recruited Shopee’s senior operations director, Jianwei Low, to its management team.
Founded in 2014, SiCepat has raised a total of US$220 million in venture funding from the likes of Tokopedia, MDI Ventures, and Kejora Capital. As of June 2023, its valuation stands between US$650 million and US$850 million.
In February this year, Tech in Asia Indonesia reported that several SiCepat executives had exited the company. The firm’s CEO, Adam Jaya Putra, was also reportedly under review by the firm’s board of directors. The reasons for the review were unclear, and SiCepat did not respond to a request for comments at the time.
