East Ventures leads pre-seed round of Indonesian fintech firm

Indonesia-based Pocket, a financial management platform, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in a pre-seed round led by East Ventures.

Markus Kevin (CEO) and Bravyto Takwa Pangukir (CTO) said they founded the company in October 2021 to fill the gaps in Indonesia’s financial landscape. These include limitations on how users are allowed to manage joint accounts as well as the lack of children’s access to banking and financial literacy.

To that end, Pocket offers trackable and separable digital accounts. Mostly catering to young families, the platform allows for digital accounts and connected cards to be allocated to different family members with their own spending limits, reporting, and analytics.

Pocket said to date, it has logged 2.5x and 3x growth in new users and total purchasing value, respectively. It plans to use the new funds for product penetration efforts, for increasing its platform’s adoption and users, and for investments into its tech.

“We are confident to provide modern solutions to the current traditional banking landscape, serving as the right solution in closing the gap toward financial inclusion,” said Kevin.
