Kae Capital has closed Winners Fund II (KWF II), its second early-stage fund, with a US$50 million raise.

Launched in mid-2020, the fund raised capital from a diverse group of investors, including early-stage VC firm Velo Partners, KKR chief Henry Kravis, wealth and asset management firm 360 One, and Prashant Tandon and Tanmay Saksena of online pharmacy Tata 1mg.

“We have launched this fund in order to continue backing our best founders, alongside other successful founders in the ecosystem who are not yet a part of the Kae family,” said Sasha Mirchandani,  founder & managing director of Kae Capital.

KWF II aims to invest in 20 pre-seed to pre-series A startups in India across all sectors. The fund typically has an initial check size of US$1 million to US$3 million and has already invested in several companies such as HealthKart, Wysa, BrightChamps, and Disprz.

KWF II is also open to co-investing with growth-stage funds in series B, C, and D rounds for companies that Kae Capital previously backed.

Kae Capital has backed 81 startups, collectively valuing its portfolio enterprises at US$8.76 billion, and it has exited from 14 of them.

The firm’s portfolio includes Tata 1mg, intracity logistics provider Porter, supply chain solution Zetwerk, and gaming company Nazara.
