Logistics unicorn J&T Express has partnered with Carousell to offer more door-to-door delivery services for sellers and buyers on the recommerce major’s platform in Singapore.
The partnership allows users to schedule pickups by J&T Express Singapore directly through Carousell’s app or website. It will also enable multiple orders to be combined into one pickup arrangement to save on resources.
J&T Express Singapore is the first logistics service provider integrated into the Carousell platform, according to a statement.
Looking ahead, IPO-bound J&T Express said it will continue to invest in its operations in the region and globally. The company recently agreed to acquire Shenzhen Fengwang Information Technology, which owns Chinese express delivery firm Fengwang Express, in a deal worth roughly US$170 million.
Meanwhile, Carousell recently appointed its new CFO, JJ Ang, who held the same role for ecommerce platforms GudangAda in Indonesia and Sendo in Vietnam.
“Our goal at Carousell is to make transacting in a secondhand marketplace as convenient and trusted as any ecommerce platform, so that secondhand can truly be the first choice,” said Vishal Salunkhe, vice president and head of goods at Carousell.
