Taiwan’s NMA Turns Vancouver Riot Into An Animation

Like most Canadians, I was considerably distraught that the Vancouver Canucks lost hockey’s Stanley Cup final despite having been up three games to two in the seven-game series. But I was even more pissed off to see an army of immature goons take over the city, rioting after the loss in the final game. But I have to admit, it did bring a tiny smile to my face when I saw that Taiwan’s Next Media Animation took time out of their busy schedule to make fun of these bums in a video.

NMA describes the incident as a manifestation of the ‘dark side of hockey,’ although I fail to recall toppling police cars and throwing molotov cocktails from my own hockey playing days. Anyway, check out NMA’s animated interpretation of the riots below:

Thankfully, many of the dumbasses responsible for this mess are not going to go unpunished. While it would be nice if they could all get the same treatment as this would-be firestarter, some creative people have wisely set up a website where the public can identify rioters and report them to police.

It’s nice that everybody cleaned up afterwards (with a little help from Facebook), but it was a pretty lousy day for Canada. I think this picture nicely puts things in perspective:
