JD.com CEO Richard Liu will not be charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation in the US, ending a probe that had cast doubt over the company’s leadership. Liu, who was participating in a University of Minnesota program for executives, was arrested in late August after being accused of raping a 21-year-old female Chinese undergraduate student. The potential charges had wiped out about US$15 billion of JD.com’s market value – almost a third of its capitalization.
