
In addition to IDBYTE, national non-profit institution ICT Watch also gives out ISBAs (Internet Sehat Blog & Content Awards), a series of awards for the Indonesian digital world. The awards are given throughout the year to blogs, Wiki, forums, and online portals that are considered positive and beneficial for the community.
The ISBA program has been running since 2009 and this year’s jury consisted of respected people in Indonesian digital sociely, namely Onno Purbo (writer, IT expert, Advisory Board Chairman of ICT Watch), Uncle Tyo (blogger, former Chief Editor of a number of media), Aulia Halimatussadiah (blogger, entrepreneur, and recently a chairwoman for ON|OFF event), and Blontank Poer (blogger, photographer and reporter). They have already chosen the three blogs that were awarded Gold for the first quarter period from May to August 2011.
The three winning blogs are indonesiabercerita.org in first place, sepeda.wordpress.com taking second, and netsains.com in third place. Later the three blogs will be assessed again with the winners in the next quarterly period to be the winner for the year (Platinum). The gold winners this time were rewarded with a portable hard drive, Laptop Cool Case + Norton Internet Security 2011 & Vouchers from XL Axiata worth Rp 200,000 (US$23.5).
Indonesia Bercerita also won the previous Bubu Awards as Best of the Best Blog at the IDBYTE event recently.
Indonesia ICT Watch encourages bloggers and Internet enthusiasts to join this competition, which are still open for the next round of assessment. This kind of awards program can trigger people’s interest in doing socially beneficial and healthy things on the internet.
