J-Stars Victory Vs reveals more about its single and multiplayer modes

We’re just a little over a month away from the long awaited J-Stars Victory Vs release for PS3 and Vita, and Namco Bandai keeps on revealing more and more about the title. A few days ago a Youtube video posted to the Namco Bandai page showed off many of the characters abilities and fighting styles and even revealed that Raoh and Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star are going to be playable characters.

Well, apparently that’s not enough for this week, and there is even more to reveal about this anime fighter.

In a series of still shots, Namco Bandai unveiled a new adventure mode that will allow you to explore One Piece’s Alabaster Kingdom from your battleship, Memorial Jump Go. Not much is known yet as to what you will do in this adventure mode, but you are able to customize your ship. You will also be able to talk to other characters from the Jump Comics, collect items, and complete quests.

The adventure mode will feature four unique scenarios including Lively, Hope, Research, and Pursuit. Unfortunately nothing but the names were released. Hopefully Namco Bandai will fill us in soon as to what these scenarios could possibly be, but until then we will just have to speculate.

The big announcement is that J-Stars Victory Vs will be capable of online play. Both the PS3 and Vita versions will allow for online battles across Japan, but what’s really interesting is that both versions will also offer 2-on-2 matches. This sounds incredible. The games will also offer a chat feature which will allow you to talk to your partner or opponents. Unfortunately with the Vita you will have to run a special application to allow for the speech component, but it is available.

The development of both J-Star Victory Vs’ single and multiplayer modes, coupled with the expanding character list, has got me very excited for this game. As of right now, the game is only scheduled for a Japanese release on March 18, 2014, but I’m not going to let that stop me from playing it.
