The device has been introduced in collaboration with PT Bank Central Asia and is an extension to Gojek’s merchant super app GoBiz. The POS system also helps merchants accept cashless payment methods for offline transactions and digitize their business operations.
Cashless payment modes accepted by the platform include debit cards, credit cards, the standard Indonesian QR code system, and digital wallets such as GoPay and LinkAja.
Merchant partners can also record orders, update their menus and prices, and print receipts with the POS device.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a fundamental shift in the way people transact, making our commitment to empower MSMEs and help foster greater resilience more important than ever,” said Andre Soelistyo, co-CEO of Gojek.
GoBiz Plus can be accessed for a price of 4,900 Indonesian rupiah (US$0.35) per day. The super-app giant claims that its suite of apps have garnered 190 million downloads as of June. It also says that it’s services have enabled over 900,000 merchants across the region to digitize their offerings.
Last month, Gojek announced a managerial reshuffle that handed over responsibilities of the company’s payment arm GoPay to Soelistyo.
