Inflection Point Ventures logs 160% return for investors in 2022

Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), an India-based angel investment platform, said that it has given a 160% internal rate of return (IRR) to its investors in 2022 driven by 12 exits across its portfolio.

The firm shared that it generated an IRR of 226% on a partial exit of green fuel platform Buyofuel and a 186% IRR on a partial exit of electric mobility startup Kazam.

IPV made around 55 startup investments in 2022. It plans to increase that number to over 60 for this year.

Established in 2018 by Vinay Bansal, Ankur Mittal, and Mitesh Shah, IPV has poured around US$67 million in investments into more than 170 startups.

Bansal, who also serves as IPV’s CEO, said that the platform exceeded its US$19 million investment target for Indian startups last year, putting US$23 million into the space.

“Our investor base has grown from 6,000 to over 8,600. We expect this to further grow to 10,000,” added Mittal. IPV said that it keeps its entry barrier for investors low, with required check sizes going as low as US$1,200 for prospective members.
