Indosat Holds Contest for Mobile Application Developers

Indonesian telecommunication company Indosat recently announced its annual event Indosat Wireless Innovation Contest (IWIC) 2011. This year’s contest features the theme “Wireless Application Innovation to Create Entrepeneurship.”

The contest comprises of mobile application development namely on Android and BlackBerry platforms. Developers can choose to develop mobile applications for business or entertainment uses.

Every mobile application developed must be original and be submitted to IWIC committee before October 2011. If elected as winners, the work will be commercialized by Indosat or offered to other parties according to subsequent negotiations. In addition, Indosat also offered a variety of rewards including gadgets and a thousand dollars in cash.

Indosat provides a place for people to get actively involved Indonesia’s mobile app development scene. It’s especially relevant in Indonesia where various start-ups are getting off the ground and contributing to the advancement of technology in the country.

This kind of contest is certainly a positive initiative for young people and encourages them to become effective entrepreneurs.
