Trading app MarketWolf raises $5.5m in seed funding
Singapore-headquartered trading app MarketWolf has raised US$5.5 million in a seed funding round joined by individual investors. This brings its total fundraise to US$7.2 million, with US$1.7 million coming from an earlier angel round.
Founded in 2017 by former investment bankers Vishesh Dhingra and Thomas Joseph, MarketWolf simplifies short-term trading with intra-day options. Launched in India with a stockbroker license, the platform also helps users learn to trade with built-in risk management features like practice mode, price movement analysis, and only-on-profit brokerage payments.
The app says that it has seen a 4x growth in trading accounts and a tenfold increase in its active users in the past few months. It currently has over 1 million downloads in India.
The firm will use the fresh funds for new product development, user base expansion, and recruitment.
“Our aim is to create a global community of MarketWolves – people who learn the psychology, knowledge, and tools to trade well in all market conditions, and train each other to become better traders,” said Dhingra, who also serves as MarketWolf’s CEO.
