Indonesian job portal raises pre-series A funding from Venturra Discovery, others
Headhunting startup Ekrut raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-series A round led by Venturra Discovery, the seed-stage arm of Indonesian firm Venturra Capital.
New investors Bizreach and Azure Ventures, along with existing investors East Ventures, Prasetia Dwidharma, and Skystar Capital, participated in the round. The new investment follows Ekrut’s seed raise with East Ventures in January 2017.

The startup will use the fresh capital to grow its user base as well as improve its data science and product capabilities. Ekrut’s technology curates applicants weekly and presents them to employers for consideration – a process that takes an average of two weeks, the company said.
According to its website, Ekrut has recruited candidates for companies including big startups like Tokopedia and Go-Jek. It also claims to have more than 2,700 employers on its database and over 120,000 candidates for potential hiring.
Ekrut aims to capitalize on Indonesia’s recruitment market worth US$1.5 billion, according to market researcher Euromonitor. It fights for users with local job sites Jobs.id, which saw 20,000 applications per day in 2015, and Job-Like, which claims to host more than 60,000 job vacancies.
