Indonesian automobile rentail platform closes seed funding round, announces rebranding
- Automo, an Indonesian online platform that helps tourists find drivers and car rentals, has raised about US$145,000 in a seed funding round, e27 reported.
- An angel investor from Prestige Corp. in Indonesia, owner of Singapore’s Cars and Trips, and another unnamed backer participated in the round, which also included a Startup SG Founder Grant worth roughly US$22,000.
- “We are currently in talks with a few VCs from Singapore and Indonesia to raise between up to SGD400,000 (US$300,000) to realize our goal of becoming of automotive lifestyle portal,” said Automo founder Charles Lin.
- The startup has also rebranded itself as Otomo, reflecting “a more global long term vision that we are planning ahead,” Lin said.
