While most of the Indonesian tweeted #prayforjapan and changed their Blackberry Messenger picture in support of that, Elasitas – one of the oldest and biggest software and application house in Indonesia – launched an application called IDforJapan. For your information, BlackBerry is the most popular smartphone in Indonesia.
IDforJapan is a Blackberry application that is built to help and support Japan Earthquake Tsunami Relief. As to why a Blackberry app, we can refer you to this post. Indonesians can receive news about Japan and donate money through the application. The proceed will go to the Indonesian Red Cross or ‘Palang Merah Indonesia’ in Indonesian for Japan relief works.

The world is saddened by the disaster and is going all out to help Japan. Japan’s Prime Minister said that this is the worst disaster that ever happened to them after World War 2.
Apple, Google and a Japan-based entertainment solutions company, MotionPotrait have been doing their best to help Japan. Apple rolled out its donation campaign and supported the Songs for Japan on iTunes. Google launched the person finder engine for Japanese, while MotionPotrait donated its sales generated from 12 iPhone apps.
