The new ride-hailing prices will come into effect on September 10 for three zones: zone I (Sumatra, Bali, and Java – outside Jabodetabek), zone II (Jabodetabek), and zone III (Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua).
- For zone I and zone III, the price floor and price ceiling per kilometer was raised by 6-10%.
- In zone II, the price floor was raised by 13.33% and the price ceiling was hiked by 6%.
- The minimum fare is adjusted based on the first 4 kilometers.
- App commission fee was brought down to 15% from the previous 20%.
In a statement to Tech in Asia, Grab Indonesia said it will be following the tariff changes.
“As an introduction and adjustment, after the new ride-hailing fare is implemented, Grab will immediately conduct a gradual socialization to driver-partners and consumers,” said Tirza Munusamy, Grab Indonesia director of central public affairs.
Tech in Asia has also reached out to Gojek for comment.
